Winchester rifle in the somewhat scarce & desirable 45-70 cal. ser# 17xxx which would be 2nd year production. This gun has been used but most certainly not abused. it is a mostly gray gun with a few traces of blue & case here and there. the bore is quite strong, action is perfect. the metal is very smooth, no nicks, dents or scratches and the wood is very good. best of all it is in the very popular & somewhat scarce 47-70 cal.

AN ABSOLUTE SCREAMER OF A 1873 RIFLE. the most desirable 44-40 cal. this gun & I'm being conservative. Here is 90-95% overall virtually all of the blue remains on the frame, the barrel  likewise although you can see it is starting to plum a bit more so on the tube which is normal. the wood is excellent with a couple of almost  unnoticeable dings. bore is mirror. the cleaning kit is still in the stock. shipped 4-1-1886 . a condition seldom seen anymore a real beauty.

$ 8250.00

A very nice 1886 A really nice medium frame colt lightening rifle I  the popular 44-40 cal. the gun is in overall very fine condition. The action is excellent and the bore quite decent. The blue has plumed to a pleasing patina & the wood is quite good. the left side if the wood slide shows some wear, overall a very nice old west gun.

$2450.00

Winchester 1873 with the somewhat scarce short magazine. ser# 241xxx. I don't have the letter yet but I believe that would put it around1887-88. Basically a brown gun but very smooth patina . used but not abused. the metal though plum in color is very good with on dings. decent bore very good action & wood. best of all 44-40 cal.   $2450.00

A beautiful 1876 rifle in 40-6- caliber. this has a 24 inch barrel which obviously was shortened a 100 yrs ago the letter does not give the barrel length but it was shortened very professionally. their is a presentation plaque on the stock that says PRESENTED BY R. A. CASTLEMAN, TO P. HUNTER DEC. 25TH 1885. A RATHER NICE CHRISTMAS PRESENT. THE STORY IS THAT ONE OF THESE GENTLEMAN WAS WINCHESTER'S MAIN AGENT IN AFRICA AT THAT TIME BUT I HAVEN'T RESEARCHED IT. This gun retains 95% of the original blue over the entire gun. the wood is near mint and the bore is a 10 [mirror] even the butt plate retains most of the color. 49xxx serial # range if this gun wasn't shortened it would easily be a 12 or 13 K gun.

$6950.00

The top one is a mod. 1892 saddle ring carbine in 38-40 cal.. this carbine was made around 1914. it is in the 700,000 serial range. the bore is excellent, the sights are correct. the tang sight is a very early Lyman which was very typical for this carbine. the wood to metal fit is excellent. both stocks have very good original finish. the carbine is mechanically excellent. this carbine has a lot of the original blue with no pits or noticeable dings. the picture tells the story. a very nice original carbine for the collector.

The 1886 50-110 express. this gun has about 75% case colors remaining. due to poor storage is has pitting on top of the frame. the barrel & tube have literally 99% factory blue. the wood is excellent with some very minor mars. the hammer still retains case coloring. So if you don't want to spend a left nut for a 1886 50 express grab this one. By the way the bore is at least a 9.
